RESOLVE YOUR RESOLUTIONS: 5 tricks to resolve your New Year’s resolutions

Un-Succeeders,

New Year’s is an interesting time of year.  They say New Year’s marks the beginning of a new year, but in reality it is only a marker which indicates that you are one year closer to death. With that being said, Un-succeeders make vows based on the changing of a couple of digits on the calender, not on the fact that their time is running out. Although New Year’s Day is an easy day to start a countdown, these failures usually don’t mean what they say.  They become tricked because they think that a new year will be new, not a continuation of what is already happening. The truth is that these un-succeeders use the same mental programming that they were using in their previous unsuccessful year. This is why the success rate for a New Year’s resolution is only 13.27 percent.  But if you have a strong will, these five tricks will help you solve any problem whether it be on New Year’s Day or Columbus Day.

1. MAKE YOUR RESOLUTION PUBLIC

Remember that embarrassment is one of the most powerful motivators.  Fearing the embarrassment of others knowing about your failures will push you that extra mile to get things done.  Tell as many people as you can about your resolution and find a way to broadcast your goal in order to get even more people involved, the more public your resolution the better.  I personally recommend taking out an ad in Google AdSense and linking to a destination page stating your goals and your e-mail. People can then keep score on you and check your resolution achievement status.

2. MAKE REPERCUSSIONS FOR FAILING

The truth is: you need to have stakes. Nothing will ever happen without repercussions. My suggestion, hire an accountant and sign over “power of attorney” to them.  Make a deal with them that they can withdraw cash from your savings if you fail.  If you don’t reach your goal of losing thirty two pounds in ninety days, make your accountant wire $20,000 to some charity. Now do you see what I am talking about? Before you know it you will be “Sweating to the Oldies” six days a week!

3. PICK A MENTOR

Part of the problem of why you need to make a resolution comes from the fact that you have tried to trust yourself to do something and have failed.  Having someone constantly drill you about your successes and failures is the only way to make it through the tough spots.  Make sure to pick a stranger as your mentor, they won’t coddle you about failure like your mother would. Nobody knows the game better than seasoned Solution Engineers and Life Hackers. Feel free to contact me in the forums. We can work something out.

4. AVOID INTERFERENCE

The ugly truth is that things will come up as you try to accomplish your goal.  Be able to filter out anything that stands in the way of accomplishing the goal, anything.  Don’t forget that you have set out to tackle this resolution and that anything standing in the way of you doing that has to be out of the picture.  If your girlfriend’s constant nagging makes you want to smoke cigarettes and you have resolved to quit smoking, then the girlfriend has to go.  Don’t let anything stand in the way of the resolution.

5. DO WHATEVER IT TAKES

The goal is the goal. There are no rules, only accomplishments. The objective is to meet the goal. Be ready to do uncomfortable and unexpected things to make it work. Since most people don’t follow through with their goals you can defeat seventy-two percent of your competition just by making your resolution stick. Here’s one foolproof StrataGem: tattoo your goal onto your body. Each time you look at your tattoo you will be reminded of your failure and this will drive you to your goal.

There you go, five ways to eliminate your excuses.  If you can really master these techniques, you may even be able to win out over three or four New Year’s resolutions in one year.  Remember, failure is always trying to hunt you down, so keep moving towards success and use these tips to finally resolve your resolutions.

Stay on top,
